Guernsey Womens’ Refuge (GWR) Ltd is a registered charity, which since it opened in October 1998 has provided emergency accommodation and support services, including a 24-hour telephone helpline and outreach support services to hundreds of women and their children who have been victims of domestic abuse.

Referrals are accepted from various local authorities including the Police, Housing, Health & Social Services. Friends, relatives and self-referrals are also regular occurrences.

Domestic abuse can occur be PHYSICAL, SEXUAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, EMOTIONAL, FINANCIAL, or SOCIAL.
